“ARTIST DESCENDING A STAIRCASE”

A Radio Play by TOM STOPPARD

Directed & Edited by Theodore Billups

STARRING:

  • Char Nakashima-Conway as Sophie

  • Jake Regensburg as Donner

  • Thomas Wagner as Beauchamp

  • Peter Danug as Martello

DIRECTOR’S NOTE:

I was in the process of directing Krapp's Last Tape by Samuel Beckett this semester. Then we all moved back home or got stuck great distances from each other. I love Tom Stoppard's work, and Artist Descending a Staircase is no exception. Perfect for working on with the current challenges we face as theatremakers, this play offers humor, art theory, and lessons that can only be learned once you've lived a little life. I hope you enjoy it.

— Theo Billups, Spring 2020.
